Yahwism shifts to Monotheism in the Book of Exodus
- Introduction
As discussed above, the authors of the Bible used stories to illustrate their points. Some of these stories were factual, some were based on facts, others took significant poetic license with the facts, while still others were made up out of whole cloth. The story of Exodus is an example of at least one of those methods.
As it is beyond the scope of this essay to discuss the story of Exodus from each of the nuances, the story in the Bible will be discussed from each end of the above-mentioned spectrum: fully true or fully fiction.
