III. A Story of Intrigue

 

So, as a spy /coup d’état story, Haman remains the villain, the heroes remain Esther and Mordecai, but the intended victim is now Ahasuerus instead of the Jews.

Reading the story of Esther as a spy/coup d’état story seems to tie all the events together in a manner that overcomes the many events that otherwise appear to be “odd”.  It is suggested that the reader visit Discussion Questions – Esther.
